Hmmm. Not a lot of response. I have probably not positioned this as well as I could. Here’s some more info.
The mileage is of course reasonably high which I accept may not be attractive. I’m a regular Friday morning rider and generally do Camel Road, Kalba, Hatta for breakfast and back home with a bunch of mates. 30 Fridays a year makes it 10k a year which is where the mileage comes from. So, it’s been used as intended, well exercised up and down the rev range. The only town riding has been to and from servicing.
For those that know the 2008 Blade history, some of them had oil burn issues for which Honda did a recall mod to fit revised rings. This bike was not extreme in oil use, but I had the mod done anyway at 14k.
Some will also notice that the crankcases are not the euro-spec brown that all 2008 Blades had. At the time Honda was doing the mod I found out that the 2008 US version black crankcase covers were not expensive, so had those fitted. Also the footpeg assemblies which are usually silver were professionally powdercoated black. I guess black is an acquired taste which I happen to like. The change to the crankcases and peg assemblies certainly adds to the overall look.
In terms of maintenance and care, I tend to overdo it and make sure everything is well looked after. All servicing has been done as per manufacturer requirements throughout its life and oil and filter changed more regularly than needed. It's been kept undercover away from the elements since new. It runs superbly, with a brilliant midrange that was helped by the dyno work Dean (when at Aprilia) did on it. The reason for me selling is because I fancy a change. Still love riding the Blade but I don’t ride enough to have two sportsbikes.
I’ve added some higher res images, taken today, which give a better impression of how tidy the bike is. I of course understand if the mileage puts people off but I would suggest that this not everything. It’s also the type of mileage, how the bike has been looked after and the overall condition. It ‘s a good one.
Come and have a look. It’s in Arabian Ranches. Happy to accept any reasonable offers,
Terry
