Dead Range Rover Disposal
« on: February 07, 2012, 12:31:16 PM »

A colleague's Range Rover melted its engine in a fit of pique.  He now wants rid of it.  Does anyone have the details of a salvage yard which would collect the carcass from the dealer?

Give Gordon a ring at AAA service center 04 2858989, he should do it.

Is it a Classic Rangie? Got any photos? I've only had four. Perhaps five is a better number to have owned. A true handful.....  ;D

Sigh, My first Rangie in Dubai was a mid 70's 2 door which I GAVE away for sweet F.A. Can you bloody believe it.......

If it's an 80's 2 door it must be 80 or 81. Methinks I must chat with Mr. Mabbs. Thanks for the tip.

The P38 (or Range Rover Mk 2) was not the finest product to come out of Solihull. As the GM of a Land Rover Dealer in 1995, I once had a wonderful Monday morning experience after a weekend of heavy rain in the North East of England whereby three new purchasers of said product had experienced water ingress in the door locks, causing the newly fangled alarms to go off all weekend and all three guys wanted their money back. Happy Days!

Ask me about the air suspension problems and the gearbox issues with the Discovery at that time......

The most reliable vehicle to ever come out of the UK likely involved steam power or a horse.
