G dog,

Didnt want to bum you out man, but I had the feeling that there wont be too many 1000s, thats why I was surprised
to see you move from 600cc as you were competitive last season! Its not too late to revert though.
Dont know about Hennie, but I think Daimen is, Abdul maybe and John Herman if his MV is ready.

Chillz, give him the R6 back!  :laff:

Yes Chillz, gimme my R6 back!!! :)
Moody,
I think its time for you to join the 1000cc, enough of fooling around in the 600s :)
Really considering to do a couple of races in Qatar this season, therefore the move to the litre class.

G dog,

Let's see how the season goes mate, and hopefully the next will be on a 1000cc.
You will love Qatar man, cant tell you how much I enjoyed the MotoGP support race last year, the track was awesome!
Im thinking of 600 cc Asian championship round this year, or another support race (if there are enough 600s and depends if I get a sponsor)  :dunno:

the costs for particpipating in Qatar = 2.500AED.... FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON - 7 races, NOT per race and on top you get a set of PROPER slicks FoC and hotel support. Thats the reason that the guys have roughly 30 bikes on their grid!

C'mon Moody, get a blade and lets rock Qatar.

@ gernot : hahah !! Aafter seeing the bike yesterday I really doubt if you'd want it back ! LOL

Anyways, I see you've askd moody to get a 1000 and ride in qatar with you.
Why is that he'll have to get a 1000 ? , can't he run on his 600 instead ?

Me and george were also having plans to get to qatar for a few trackdays (if not races), if you guys are up for it, and if 600 can run.. Then me and george might be in for it aswell.

as per my knowledge 600 can run. but there is just nobody riding a 600 there. around 30 litre bikes on the grid at the races there.

You can run a 600 as well, I have been in touch with QMMF recently to find out how many 600 will be registered this season, registrations close on the 13th of october. They have supersport and 600 club (just like our specs).
According to their email today, so far they cannot provide either tires or accommodation for 600s, (only for 1000s), however, the registration for the whole season for 600s is AED 1,500. If they they could provide tires for free (which they will come back to me about) then it will cost almost HALF to fly there, pay hotel for 2 nights, race and come back than a 1 race at the Autodrome! I did the calculations! (the only hassle is logistics for the bike which will cost)
unless you can take it yourself or someone you know.
Next year Im taking my ass off to race in Qatar for sure.

:smiley_banghead: Its just so unfair what autodrome is doing with us this season.

Now me being a rookie and if I approch my folks saying I want to race in qatar I'll have it nicely from them. :smack:
I guess I'll have to do this season here... :(

And maybe be after getting some initial experience here I can start off in qatar.. cause I very well have an idea of the sort of rider's qatar has. (Thanx to QMMF) :bolt:

But, if the bike issue is sorted out I'am sure I'll be in qatar in dec and feb for a few trackdays atleast

I wonder how much it would cost to rent a 7.5T removal van in Dubai and use this get the bikes over to Qatar for each round? This way we could load all the bikes, spares and gear into one vehicle and share the costs amongst the riders.

For the sake of the sport here and for convenience, I think most of us would love to race here, and I think most of us don't have too many issues with the race fees. (provided theres something in return!) But the fact is this:
If Dunlop are keeping their tires prices the same as last year, DA has to let us bring our own tires, at least for the national series.
If Dunlop reduce the price then its a good start, but DA has to stick to its words and offer initiatives anyway.
otherwise its bye bye sportbikes! and off to qatar with the 1000s.
