 Very true. :fing34:

Just like 'moody' pointed oUt ...we get nothing in return, if there's a possibilty that DA can have any sort of disscounts on race entery fee or if they provide the winner with free tyres for the next round then it makes more sense to be racing. :duel:
But so far nothing as such has happened and I doubt anything will happen now. :smiley_banghead:

Moreover, only guy's very serious about racing are questioning DA as we are looking at long term effect.
Few rider's in DA just race for fun, and it won't matter to them even if they have to quit / championship comes to an end.
They'll probably still be happy with trackdays.

But it's not the same for all, and if DA continues such high price tags on the tire, then I might aswell consider this as my 1st and last racing season in DA and might move on to race in qatar/india.

Have you guys noticed the at the cars guys are dealing with the same tires crap!!! I mean come on! does anybody from DA has the b*lls to speak up and let us know!
If theres no change in tire fees, tell us to take or leave it, but at least we can plan accordingly. Their silence is not only
a prove of unparalleled levels of unprofessionalism in the sport but also makes you wonder what will really happen if we dont race!

This is just plain stupid.
I reckon we should all turn up to race, have dunlop order whatever shipment they need, then dont buy the tires on the last minute unless they are cheaper.  :laff:
Let them then bear the cost of over supply!

Date: 14/09/2011
Attention: UAE Sportbikes
Subject: Tyres
The issues of tyres has been an ongoing negotiation between DAMC, Dunlop UK and Al Gu** (UAE Dunlop importer) in an effort to obtain the correct supply of tyres at the best cost possible for competitors. These negotiations have been frustrating and dragged on far longer than we expected as we battle to strike the best deal for UAE Sportbikes riders and teams. However this has been inevitable and we have pursued the matter as ultimately the outcome will have long term impact.
We are told that a decision is imminent regarding this and assure you we will notify you as soon as we receive word.

At least you got some an official answer, even if it is telling you guys to wait. but with 2 weeks prior the first round I dont know what can be done.  :(

What if DAMC turn tround and say ok, drivers and bikes buy your own tyres? At least for the bikers who run treaded "street" tyres they may be able to find another brand in Dubai, but for the car racers who run slicks, guess we run old rubber from last season (if the tyres are in a condition to be used again that is) or we sit out round 1.

There's another thread for road bike tyres going at the moment......there is none in Dubai apparently.

Hence why I hand carried a set of Metzlers into the country yesterday morning  :fing34:
